Endocrinology, edited by J. Larry James and Leslie J. De Groot, is the 6th edition of this sentinel endocrinology text. Since its first publication in 1979, it has become one of the most comprehensive and updated endocrinology text books. In this edition, editors James and De Groot rose to the challenge of covering the multiple aspects of endocrinology. In addition to the traditional gland-based structure, multi-hormonal integration of endocrine function is widely discussed. Not only are the clinical aspects of endocrinology addressed, but the editors do a commendable job of presenting recent advances in basic science research, ranging from genetic to protein level knowledge.
